Springfield Gardens, New York

Springfield Gardens in Queens, New York was originally settled by Dutch immigrants. Until the 1920’s this New York area was rich farmland. The land was sold off and developed. The bedroom community of Springfield Gardens was born.

This close knit suburban community is home to families wanting to escape the busy rush of the city as well as the long time locals that have lived in the same house their entire life. A good portion of the Springfield Gardens population made up of Jamaican, Haitian and other Caribbean area immigrants.

The local restaurants are diverse in their offering. From the delectable French pastry shop to Jamaican delights to Creole cooking to Southern Soul Food there is sure to be a something to please every palate.

There are plenty of local businesses to support the needs of the community.
