Springfield Gardens is a quiet, residential community in the southeast area of Queens, a borough that makes up the City of New York. It appears to be bordered by Merrick Boulevard to the north, Rockaway Boulevard and Kennedy Airport to the South, Farmers Boulevard to the west and Springfield Boulevard to the east, though on some maps Springfield Gardens is further east and north, with its northern border being Linden Boulevard and its eastern border being the Cross Island Expressway, which is also the border between Queens and Nassau counties.
Springfield Gardens is served by several bus routes, including the Q77, Q84, the Q5, the N4 and N8. All of these buses can take a commuter to a subway station further east in the borough. The population is 91.5 percent black. Most people are Caribbean immigrants or their children.
