The best way to get to the neighborhood will depend on where you are coming from. If you are in Manhattan, the train is the cheapest and quickest option. However, because the train station in Springfield Gardens has been closed down, you will have to walk 20 minutes or get a taxi when you arrive in Queens.
To take the train to the neighborhood, you should start your journey at the Atlantic Terminal at Penn Station. Get on the train that is going toward Far Rockaway. This train should take about 25 minutes and has four stops. Exit the train at the Locust Manor stop in Queens. This is the closest stop to your destination. From there, Springfield Gardens is just under one mile, which you can walk or find a taxi.
Other forms of transportation include a car or a taxi. Springfield Gardens has major boulevards that connect from other areas of Queens. From the airport at JFK, you can take a bus to the neighborhood. The airport is close so a bus ride takes under 20 minutes. Just hop on the Q3 bus toward Jamaica which will take you right to Springfield Gardens.
